SALEM, Oregon – In a big surprise to everyone in Los Angeles, Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence has announced today in an interview that she is moving to the Salem, Oregon area. She told the magazine that she was “tired of the L.A. lifestyle” and was looking for a change in life.

“I just want to slow things down a bit and get away from the crazy, hectic life in L.A. I’ve visited the Salem area a few times over the years and the people there are real… they’re genuine and pretty friendly too and I think those are the things that are most important in deciding where to live,” Lawrence said.

“I’m not giving up on my career; just looking for a change in life and I think I’ve found it in Salem,” Lawrence reassured fans. If you’re a resident of the Salem area let us know in the comments section below what you think about Jennifer Lawrence moving to your area.

I grew up in Salem, and both of my parents still live there because it is a nice beautiful and calm area to just settle down!

The lifestyle of Salem is pretty laid back and modest, and it tends to be a homebody city.
The city life in Salem is not very active, but the location is only an hour drive away from the city of Portland (going north) and the college towns of Eugene and Corvallis (going south). I found that Salem is a great location to live for a peaceful way of life, but it can be a lonely city if you do not branch out to the rest of the state of Oregon.

All of Oregon is very beautiful (especially northern Oregon in my opinion), and Salem is right in the center of what I think is the best part of Oregon.

I think that Miss Lawrence would really love living being an Oregonian and a Salemite!

I forgot to add that Salem is also just about an hour and a half drive away from the coast, and the gorge of northern Oregon is known for great hikes and beautiful mountains.

      This is so exciting!

  5. Welcome to Salem Oregon. We love Jennifer. Salem is 1-2 hours from everything, Portland, Coast, skiing, lakes all over the place, wineries & the Beautiful Willamette Valley. Wonderful place to live. Come visit Salon Redd Salon & Spa.

  6. We are all pretty decent people out here . I’m excited to possibly run into Jennifer some time maybe .

  7. Bring an umbrella

  8. My dad’s Vineyard is for sale in the South Salem hills on top of the hill. Views of Mt Hood, Mt Jefferson, Mt Rainier, and Mt St Helens. It’s been an organic vineyard for 27 years. 20 Acres with options for more.

  9. I’ve lived here for about a decade, and I’ve loved every year! Just bring an umbrella.

  10. If this is true and you like Salem and the area, check out Albany too. If you aren’t looking for a huge house and land, the downtown historic district is awesome and walking to most things is easy.
