Culinary wasteland is correct, Ron, although, with the money he has, I’m sure he can get decent food. For the rest of us poor folk, forget it. Hope he doesn’t love sushi cause he’ll have to take a trip to NYC to some! Wegman’s is over priced and over-hyped. It’s a grocery store monopoly between them & Tops. I moved to Rochester 6 years ago & disliked the area from the get-go. I found the people to be “clicky”; those from the West side looked down on those from the East side and those in the outer burbs were considered “hicks who lived in the sticks”. Most of the city is a ghetto with loads of violent crimes. There are plenty of nicer places he could have chosen. I think he’s nuts to move there, but hey, I left & am so happy I did! Let’s hope his notoriety can do something positive for the area.

Have lived in the Rochester/ Canandaigua area all of my life. Beautiful people, beautiful lakes, beautiful wine and of course Wegmans. Whats not too like. I agree though head south or west for the winter.

Good luck check out the 1000 islands for Blues On The Bay and Rocking Weekend And Pirates Weekend in Alexandria Bay New York. You can stay 24 miles up the Rd in Ogdensburg a Lil quieter. But a lot of fun

A lot of Greats came to Rochester. The Flour City, The Jazz scene ,the Public Market. The Lilac Festival these are a few of my favorite things. I’m from Spencerport,New York and have also lived in Tennessee, Washington, and California. But to experience the 4 seasons, the festivals and the family and the Community that exist in Rochester is over all the best place to live. Good luck and enjoy. The west side of the river is the best side ! Now I live in the North Country at the 1000 islands.
